I feel like a statue today

Cemented to the ground

Watching the world pass by

As I remain unmoving.

Inwardly my thoughts

Are in constant motion.

Outwardly my face remains

Unchanged, unemotional

No reaction to anything

Life throws at me.

The marble shell is both

Shield and strength

Pitted and pockmarked

From past battles

With life.
