Crocus by Aaron Burden

The crocus that heralds the Spring

Has emerged from its slumber.

How something without a brain

Instinctually knows by the

Warming of the soil around it

That it is time to grow.

That it is time to

Spread its flower

To the warming sun

Leaves me

Awestruck and amazed.
